Lyon H3 Run #25 - The morning coffee to beer run - 14/06/2026

As you might be aware off, a few of the most racist members of this group regularly meet in the early morning to go for a r#n followed by coffee. Our hare this time will use the usual starting point of this horrible morning habit, and try to convert it in a proper beer quest, as it should be.

Lyon H3 Run #24 - Ste Foy, take 2 - 23/05/2026

The month of May is full of "holes" and long weekends, but the June hash is so far away that we needed to squeeze one in between. 
The Swinger family will soon move to the hills of Sainte Foy lès Lyon, so let's get up there and check out their new hood!

Where : Bus stop "Plan du Loup - Les Razes" in Sainte Foy lès Lyon (corner Chemin du plan du Loup with Chemin des Razes).
 

How to get there : From Lyon Perrache take bus C19 (Direction Francheville) - bus leaves every 20 min, ride takes 20 min.

Lyon H3 Run #23 - The sausage party - 03/05/2026

The weather outside is ... delightful, so no need to give it a blow, let's grill them sausages! 
But before that, the hare plans on dragging you through the urban maze of Villeurbane/Vaulx en Velin. Be ready to eat some concrete before ending up in Just Like Me's hidden garden for some juicy meat.
Since we are doing a little BBQ afterwards, this week's hashcash will be 10€. Please also bring  a side dish, salad, dessert or a bottle. Sausages will be provided by our lovely hostess.

Run #22 - Beer Festival in La Doua - 2nd Edition - 25/04/2026

The first edition was such a success, that our hares want to come again... to the Lyon Beer Festival.  The idea: a trail even shorter than last year's. Followed by an afternoon of drinking. Genius!

Lyon H3 Run #21 - Run around Ma Chatte - 04/04/2026

Easter is a"Ronde" the corner, and our hare might have mistaken the Easter bunnies with Easter Pussies... whatever, both kinds are soft and fluffy.
Not sure there will be Eastereggs checks on trail, but you'll for sure be spinned "Ronde", baby, right "Ronde" !

Lyon H3 Run #20 - Pies and Guinness run - 14/03/2026

Galette at the January run, Crêpes for our February hash, and now a trail set on pi day (03/14)... is this group slowly turning into Cake H3 ??
Lazy Swinger, our hare in March insisted it has nothing to do with pastries or being sweet, he is just a bit premature ... ly celebrating St Patrick's Day!
So yes, expect another epic trail from pub to pub, maybe a bit of running in between, hashmarkings in form of clovers, and leprechauns galore!

The weather outside will probably be crappy, our hare might drag us into creepy areas, the trail will be crap, but... there will be crêpes at the end!

For once Lyon H3 is well ahead (who said head?) of time!
Hashmas and New Beer are not even over yet, and we are already talking about the next set of festivities : the galette des rois!  Yes, Just Lilah has promessed us some sweet stuff at the end of the trail!

Run #16 - Déjà-bu - Marathon du Beaujolais hangover run - 23/11/2025

Sore muscles? Headaches? Feeling like you ran a marathon the previous day?

Come grab some fresh air and get rid of that Beaujolais hangover with a bunch of visiting hashers!

A never-before-seen trail (or what is that déjà-bu feeling??) set by honorary Lyon H3 visiting hare, who has never set foot in the parc de la Tête d’Or. Does this sound reassuring to you??

Run #15 - 1 year hashy beerday Wine fair run - 02/11/2025

It's been a year already for Lyon H3. Hashy Beer Day as we say! Let's celebrate by ... raiding the wine fair!!

What to expect? Lyon H3 at its best cheapest : a short-ish last minute trail in a dirty urban area, may be no beer stop, probably little drinks at circle, no logo, no T-shirt nor celebratory haberdash... but free entrance to the Salon des vignerons indépendants and all you can drink wine, bubbly, schnaps at the on-after!!

On after : At about 13:00, we will go the the wine fair (Salon des Vignerons indépendants), where you get a wine glass, and then can wander around (no trail marked!) and taste wine, but also bubbly, liqueurs, etc...

Run #14 - Froglegs and Knights in Vernaison - 30/08/2025

Here a mix of our two last trails, one where much water (from the sky!) and swimming in a lake was involved and the other one about fairy tales... , so that some of us might have turned into frogs already! 

Well, next trail won't be far from the water either, and the hare promissed us forest and knights of the round table... or at least a table, and frogs... will those poor frogs end up on the knights roundtable? or just on the hashers' plates?

Where : In front of Vernaison train station 
 
How to get there : 
From Lyon Perrache station, take the 13:31 train in the direction of Firminy.
It's only a 15min train ride to Vernaison, BUT, there is a train every hour only. Don't miss it!

On after (or On before?) : The local resto (L'île) is supposed to be renowned for its Froglegs... let's see what we can disorganise.

 



Run #13 - A brief but short Fairy Tale run

It's August, the town is empty, all the lyonnais are away on vacation... all?? no, a few irreductible hashers are still bravely battling with the heat, quenching their thirst with every single beer they might lay their hands on!

And that's a good coïncidence, since we have visitors next week, Sleeping Booty from Paris and Bl*w Job from Australia. Yes, sounds like the start of a very hashy fairy tale. Wanna know the end of the story?

Come and join us for a short(ish) trail - said the hare, and some drinking practice afterwards!

Run #12 - A French man went to...the Lac de Miribel - 14/07/2025

What a better way to celebrate July 14th than to ... go to the lavatory!

Following the recent heatwave, we all agree that a cool and wet one would be best for next Lyon H3 run. 

The hare told me, he has no clue yet, where he would take us, but he promissed a swimstop and some insider information on the asian food vendors hiding in the bushes around the lake...  (I wonder if there is a hidden message here...)

Here the details:

When : Monday 14th July at 10am 

Where : In front of the public toilets , plage du Morlet, All. du Morlet, 69120 Vaulx-en-Velin  
Between Brasserie du Grand Parc and Parking de la Capitainerie 

How to get there : 
Take bus N83 from Métro Laurent Bonnevay or bus N80 from Métro Vaulx en Velin la Soie. Stop at "Grand parc le Morlet" and walk 1 minute to the start. Bus every 20 min
Or bike it, along the Rhône
Cars : plenty car parks around

On after : we will do a picnic after the run, either by buying asian food from the street vendors (if they are around on that day) or from the local guinguette / frite house. This is pay as you go. You can also bring your own food.

Run report:
It was a hot morning, half of the pack still being hungover from the dancing (and maybe the drinking) at the Bal des Pompiers the night before...
 

After a confusing car ballet (2 hares, 3 cars!!!), the hares started an energetic and very thorough chalktalk... then mentionning that the huge rain downpour the night before had probably washed away all the marking...
 

However, runners and walkers didn't let that get in their way to the beerstop. 
 
And along the lake we went.
Over bridges and ridges... and naturist beaches...
 

 
Finally reaching the On Inn and the promised wet spot... I mean, the SwimStop!
 
 

Lunch was had somewhere in Asia... (yes, we ran that far).
 

 
And the drinking / sleeping /swimming went lazzily on all afternoon, so lazzy, that we didn't even have a circle...
